D.L. Payne, Inc. is an independent electrical and instrumentation contractor. The business was started in May 1991, in Lodi, California by Dave Payne.

The company's primary focus is heavy industrial electrical and instrumentation work throughout central California. Our capabilities include, but are not limited to, substation construction and maintenance, installation of switchgear, motor control centers and major power distribution equipment. We install, calibrate and troubleshoot electronic and pneumatic process control instruments. Also, we install, check-out and start-up DCS (distributive control system) and PLC (programmable logic controllers) control systems.

Safety and quality work are our top priorities. We have had minimal "Lost Time Accidents" at D.L. Payne, Inc. Prevention of accidents is the key to providing a safe work environment. We enforce a strict policy which prohibits the use of alcohol or any controlled substance and our employees are BATC trained and CPR certified.

We hold daily safety meetings to discuss scheduled activities and proper procedures for performing those activities. We discuss subjects related to maintaining a safe work environment at weekly safety meetings

We practice pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing. Post accident testing will be conducted following an incident causing property damage or injury to another person, or if an employee is suspected of being under the influence.

This company believes in continuous improvement of the services we offer as a professional E & I contractor. This can only be accomplished by ongoing training programs. We are members of ISA and incorporate their training materials in our in-house instrument training programs. We also use the IEC electrical training program that uses a 4 year apprenticeship curriculum, and a journeyman upgrade program. These programs, along with specialty training in areas such as fiber optics or high voltage splicing, allow us to grow from a foundation of knowledge and experience. We want our customers to have confidence that their projects will be completed safely, efficiently and with top quality results.
